Collections Working Group

The collections policy is maintained by the Library’s Collections Working Group (CWG). This group has two goals:

  • To provide access to the information resources needed to support the teaching, learning, and research missions of Indiana University Indianapolis
  • To collect and curate unique collections of value to IU Indianapolis and its community.

The Library’s Collections Working Group (CWG) is a standing working group comprised of librarians and staff that are representative of various University Library divisions/departments. This group is led by the Director of Content Services.

Membership

The CWG has permanent and non-permanent members.

Permanent membership: Associate Dean of Scholarly Communications & Content Strategies, Director of Content Services, Resource Sharing Librarian, Electronic Resources and Subscriptions Specialist, and a representative from access services.

Non-permanent members represent librarians and library staff throughout the Library, often with subject or collection specific expertise. The CWG should have a minimum of two subject liaison librarians, but it may include additional librarians and library staff from any department within the library. These members will be appointed for a two-year term and may be reappointed at the discretion of the Associate Dean for Scholarly Communication & Content Strategies. CWG members may request to be removed from the group at their own discretion. Members leaving the CWG will be replaced as necessary to maintain a representative group.
