Accessibility

University Library strives to license online resources that meet or exceed WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines for equitable access to web-based resources. The Library requires VPATs (Voluntary Product Accessibility Templates)—or their equivalent—from vendors to determine how well they meet the guidelines. In addition, and when possible, the Library will perform accessibility testing. The Library will also negotiate for the presence of strong accessibility language in our vendor licenses so that vendors take responsibility for providing content in forms that meet current accessibility guidelines. However, the Library also recognizes that for the near future some licensed resources will not meet these guidelines. When the Library becomes aware of these issues, we will take steps to remediate such resources since it is our responsibility to provide equally accessible resources for our users.  In the future, this may result in the Library deciding to not license a resource because of lack of adherence to the WCAG guidelines by the vendor.
