December Caption Contest

All are encouraged to enter captions to a photo in the Archives. The contest winner (as chosen by those sagacious heads at Caption Contest Central) will receive a Fabulous Prize.

This month's Caption Contest photo dates from when our Herron School of Art was located at 16th and Pennsylvania Streets and hosted a holiday celebration for the neighborhood children. The look on the boy's face is priceless. What's he thinking? You decide!!

Black and white photograph. A black man dressed as Santa Clause is sitting in a makeshift sleigh made out of a shopping cart, cardboard and decorated with glitter. His fake beard and the trim on his hat, sleeves and belt are made out of cotton balls. A smiling woman in a white turtleneck, cardigan, and grid pants is pushing the sleigh. A black child is standing on the far left, frowning and with a bundle of white paper tucked under his arm. Another woman in a suit is in the background. Behind Santa is a decorated tree and giant plastic candle. Debris of confetti litters the floor.
